What is EPNC?

The Echo Park Neighborhood Council is a publicly funded and elected group of individuals who live, work, own property, or otherwise have a connection to Echo Park. We address issues and engage in initiatives affecting the neighborhood as a whole, as well as in each of its six districts.

The EPNC connects residents on a local level with their city government and aims to address issues of safety, development, and quality of life with those who live and work around us.

When is the Election?

April 6, 2021.  This election will be vote-by-mail only due to the pandemic. The Candidate filing period is December 5, 2020 – Jan 19, 2021. More details and timeline below.

Who can run?

Any stakeholder who has a connection within the District or the entire EPNC for At-Large/Youth Seat, can run. Stakeholder is defined as those who live, work or own property in the neighborhood or who declare a stake in their neighborhood as a community interest stakeholder. The latter is defined as a person that is a member of a community organization within the NC’s boundaries.  Bylaws, (Article IV on Pages 5-6).

To determine whether you are within the Boundaries of EPNC as a whole or any particular district, look at the Map and description of boundaries in our Bylaws (Article III on pg 3)  [jump link to portion of bylaws].

Candidates for all seats must be 18 years or older except for the Youth Seat. The Youth Seat candidates must be 14-17 at the time of the election.

What seats are up for election this year?

-1 District 2 Representative

-1 District 3 Representative

-1 District 4 Representative

-1 District 5 Representative

-1 District 6 Representative

-4 At-Large Representative
